L&S Classified Staff Issues Committee
The College of Letters & Science Classified Staff Issues Committee (CSIC) represents the College classified staff. The committee also advises the Dean on the development and review of all College policies and procedures affecting classified staff.
In addition, the Committee provides advice to the Dean on developing opportunities for participation of classified staff members in department and unit governance, and developing opportunities for recognition of classified staff member contributions to the College’s mission and to the excellence of its programs.
The nine committee members meet monthly.
CSIC was created in 2003 by Dean Phil Certain and provides a forum for Letters & Science classified staff to:
- provide input regarding college policies that affect classified staff;
- provide an opportunity to develop and promote new initiatives for professional growth and for college and departmental governance;
- promote recognition of classified staff; and,
- advise the Dean on policy and other issues.
How to get involved with the CSIC
The committee welcomes email suggestions from Letters & Science classified staff regarding issues and initiatives that should be considered by the committee.
