Course Lists
Courses that satisfy the General Education requirements can be found by using the University's Course Guide. (Information about the Course Guide can be found in the Registrar's KnowledgeBase.)
First, click on "Find Courses" link one Course Guide page. This will open a list of all courses available. On the left side of the page will be a list of course attributes that can be used to narrow that list down. Under Gen Ed, you may select the following:
- Com-A
- Com-B
- Quant Reason-A
- Quant Reason-B
A separate option allows users to search for Ethnic Studies courses.
After selecting search criteria, users click on the green "find" icon to generate the list of courses they're looking for.
Students can use a similar strategy to look for courses scheduled to be offered in the coming term. They should consult the Schedule of Classes for the term in which they wish to enroll, and filter the list by specific General Education course indicators.
For Department and Program Faculty and Staff
Are you creating a new course that might meet a General Education Requirement? Do you have an existing course that seems like it might meet a requirement? Please visit our "New Course Approval" page, which provides an overview of the process for obtaining approval to use General Education course designations.
