I.10 PROJECTED DATES AND DEADLINES

A monthly calendar of important dates and deadlines is provided here in .pdf format.  (Regularly scheduled meetings, deadlines, and other information are discussed here.) This month-to-month calendar has been developed in an effort to provide as much advance information as we can to departmental administrative staff members (chairs, department secretaries, others) about anticipated deadlines and activities for the coming year.  In cases where specific dates are only available when the call for a report or proposal is issued, the calendar notation suggests that users "look for" that information in the month during which the call usually appears. If the particular date is critical for your planning purposes, and if you haven't yet received the detailed information, call the appropriate office or person and we'll try to provide you with updated information.

Please note that while we have tried to be as comprehensive as possible, this calendar should not be considered to be an exhaustive (even if exhausting) list of what you will have to do during a given month.  For many other important deadlines and events, you may find it useful to refer, as well, to the following calendars:

We have not included certain activities that occur on a continuing basis. Such activities include:
  Personnel Activity Deadlines:
  • IADS Forms and payrolls - deadlines and information on all kinds of L & S payrolls are included on the monthly Payroll Planning Calendar distributed by the L&S Payroll Office by the 25th of the month for the following month
  • Personnel Activity Reports (PARs) for classified staff - due quarterly
  • Vacation and sick leave records for unclassified staff - forms are filed monthly
  • Application procedures for teaching assistants and project assistants - should remain posted
  Research and Grant Deadlines:
  • All Human Subjects Research Protocols must be renewed at least annually.  The renewal cycle is determined by the Human Subjects Committee.
  • Research grant proposals - should be in the L&S Office of Research Services by at least two weeks before the proposal deadline
  • Protocols for Human Subjects Research--considered monthly; the date of the next meeting and the cutoff date for submission of protocols are posted online at http://www.ls.wisc.edu/oros/HumanSubjects/HumSub_Ddlines.htm
  • News and updates (including deadlines) are posted on the Research Services website (http://www.ls.wisc.edu/research/default.htm)
