L & S

L&S DEAN'S SENIOR STAFF
Every Monday morning.  (Chairs should contact their Associate Dean to discuss issues and deadlines for submission of materials.)

L&S CHAIRS, DIRECTORS, AND ADMINISTRATORS
Usually monthly, on the third Monday of the month from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Locations to be announced.  Agenda materials are distributed at the meeting. 

L&S FACULTY SENATE MEETINGS
Meetings are be held once each semester on designated Mondays at 3:30 p.m. For more information about dates and locations, please refer to Chapter I.4. To submit materials or questions for discussion, please contact the Dean and/or Elaine M. Klein (kleine@ls.admin.wisc.edu), who serves as the Secretary for the L&S Senate.

L&S ACADEMIC PLANNING COUNCIL
Every Wednesday, 3:30 - 5:00, 101 South Hall.   Agenda items are scheduled at the Dean's discretion, in consultation the Director of Academic Planning, Program Review, and Assessment and with the Associate Deans.

Please send materials to your Associate Dean no less than two weeks prior to the meeting. Copies should also be sent to Elaine M. Klein (kleine@ls.admin.wisc.edu; 307E South Hall).

L&S CURRICULUM COMMITTEE
Meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of the month. 

  • Proposals to add, change or delete courses must be approved by the L&S Curriculum Committee before submission to the divisional committee. Please send 3 copies to the L&S Curriculum Committee for review by the L&S Curriculum Committee. These should be sent c/o Elaine Klein (307E South Hall) at least ten days prior to the L&S Curriculum Committee meeting scheduled three weeks before the Divisional Committee Meeting at which you would like these materials considered. When all questions are resolved to the committee's satisfaction, staff will ask department to send 20 copies of the revised proposal(s) to accompany the Dean's letter of approval for the Divisional Committee.
  • Materials are due to the Curriculum Committee Chair, c/o Elaine M. Klein ten days before the meeting. 

L&S HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH COMMITTEE

UW-MADISON FACULTY SENATE MEETINGS
Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month at 3:30 p.m. in Room 272 Bascom.

Meetings are usually held on the second Monday of the month at 3:30 p.m. in Room 272 Bascom.

DIVISIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Meetings are posted online through the Secretary of the Faculty's website, located at http://www.secfac.wisc.edu/divcomm/index.htmNote: All agenda items (including 14 copies of materials for tenure cases) must be received in the Divisional Committee Office, 134 Bascom, three weeks before a Divisional Committee meeting.  Course additions, changes, or deletions must be approved by the L&S Curriculum Committee before submission to the divisional committee; send 20 copies to the L&S Curriculum Committee, c/o Elaine Klein (307B South Hall) at least ten days prior to the L&S Curriculum Committee meeting scheduled three weeks before the Divisional Committee Meeting at which you would like your materials considered.
