I.11 COMMITTEES

Most campus policies are established by committees acting at the departmental, school/college, and campus level. Because membership on College and campus committees changes frequently, we have not endeavored to indicate membership or even committee chairs here. Information regarding current membership on campus committees can be obtained from the Office of the Secretary of the Faculty (2-3956 or online at http://www.secfac.wisc.edu/), the Office of the Secretary of the Academic Staff (3-2985 or online at http://acstaff.wisc.edu).  Information regarding College committees can be obtained from the Dean's Office (3-2303).

Regular College committees include:

Committees are also often established on an ad hoc basis. Among those that meet as needed are:

  • Foreign Language Policy Committee
  • Parking Policy Review Committee
  • Scholarship Committee

L&S also provides staff support and expertise as the lead college for a number of campus-wide committees. These include:

  • University General Education Committee (includes Ethnic Studies Requirement Subcommittee)
  • Social and Behavioral Science Institutional Review Board (for research involving Human Subjects)
