I.9 PAPER AND REQUEST FLOW The Handbook section on whom to contact shows where to get help and information. To minimize time trying to track down misdirected copies of documents, we provide a flow chart that indicates whom to call, where to send what and how many copies to send. Particularly in the area of staffing, matters will proceed more smoothly and rapidly if the right number of copies containing the right information are routed properly in the first place. (See also Section on "L & S Administrative Staff".) Where two people are indicated (with "xc"), send a copy directly to each. Please avoid the temptation to write "global" memos covering many different issues. Since we may deal with different types of problems--staffing requests and supplies budgets, for example--at different times and with different discussants, please confine a memo to one type of problem or request. For example, a request should be limited to one personnel action for one individual, rather than several actions for a group of people. For Summer Sessions appointments only, material should be sent directly to Nancy Westphal-Johnson. It is not necessary to send a copy to the Dean or Associate Deans. See Chapter VI for Student Academic Affairs information. Go to the Paper and Request Flow Chart Last updated: July 25, 2005 |
