VI.24 SUMMER COLLEGIATE EXPERIENCE Website: http://www.lssaa.wisc.edu/sce/ The Summer Collegiate Experience (SCE) is a campus-wide program designed for admitted first-year students. Participants in SCE are involved in a unique 7-8 week orientation program the summer before beginning their first year at the University. The Summer Collegiate Experience has three main goals:
The objective of SCE is to provide a quality academic experience that introduces students to the type of instructional demands they will encounter during the fall semester. Although SCE is designed as an orientation program, students enroll in two to three Summer Session courses and earn credit toward their UW-Madison degree. SCE gives students the chance, during the less hectic summer months, to make the many academic and non-academic adjustments their peers must contend with during the busy fall semester.
