VI.3 THE ACADEMIC ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM--13 INGRAHAM HALL Website: http://www.lssaa.wisc.edu/aap/ Background For forty years, the campus-wide Academic Advancement Program (AAP) has been devoted to providing academic support to select groups of students at UW-Madison, with the goal of improving student retention rates and enriching these students' academic experience. Throughout these years, AAP has provided a wide range of services to hundreds of students who have demonstrated high potential for success at our institution. Among the many services available to AAP students are accessibility, college-readiness initiatives, academic support, guidance, encouragement to continue, and information and advice they need to make informed decisions about their academic careers. Eligibility Applicants who demonstrate disadvantage based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, academic record, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or geographical setting are eligible to be considered for participation in AAP. Application and entrance to the program are not limited to incoming freshmen. All eligible undergraduate students may apply to AAP. Please note: Application to AAP does not guarantee admission to the UW-Madison. Applications are guaranteed a thorough and student-centered review to determine eligibility and suitability for AAP services. Updated August 2007 |
