Chapter VI.  Student Academic Affairs

L&S Student Academic Affairs is responsible for much of the advising that takes place on the UW-Madison Campus, as well as for academic policy development and interpretation.  Last but not least, L&S SAA operates a number of important key programs that ease and enhance the academic -- and often personal -- lives of L&S students.

This chapter begins with an overview of the L&S SAA, moves on to a discussion of several advising programs, reviews several important policies that affect students (such as those pertaining to records, access and accommodation), and summarizes several of the programs developed to help students.  Finally, this chapter concludes with several sections that address current grading and other policies.  For more information in any of these areas, please feel free to consult directly with L&S SAA.
