Chapter II.  Funding, Budget and Operations

The second chapter of the L&S Departmental Handbook takes a closer look at the financial operations of departmental management.  Because the university is a public institution governed by many detailed policies and procedures, it is important for every department to attend to the details of these policies; however, we do not expect every department chair to be expert in each details.  We encourage department chairs and administrators to avail themselves of the expertise found in their departmental staff and in South Hall.  When in doubt, contact the appropriate Academic or Administrative Dean as listed in the paper and request flow chart (Chapter I).
