The L&S Handbook is a publication of the UW-Madison College of Letters and Science.   The initial on-line publication was produced in August 2000; updates are made each summer and, when warranted, during the academic year as indicated on individual pages within the document.

Please note that some of these pages do not require continual updating; many documents that appear to be "old" may, indeed, be the most current version.  If readers have questions about the currency of documents, they should feel free to contact Elaine M. Klein (kleine@ls.admin.wisc.edu). In the event that items are found that are, indeed, out of date, please notify Elaine Klein at your earliest convenience; don't forget to include the address of the page, so we know which item requires attention.

Materials contained in this document have been created by members of the College of Letters and Science.  The copyright for these materials is held by the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents.

Editors:  Elaine M. Klein and Nancy Westphal-Johnson.   Technical and network support provided by L&S Management Information Services.

Published by UW-Madison, College of Letters and Science, located in South Hall (1055 Bascom Mall, Madison Wisconsin 53706).

It is the nature of this document to be a work in progress - and more so during August, when annual updates are in progress.
Please be patient - updates should be complete by Welcome Week.
