Office of Service Learning & Community Based Research
The Office of Service Learning and Community Based Research (OSLCBR) aims to bring the classroom and the community together.
OSLCBR has a wide array of on and off campus partnerships, including the Morgridge Center for Public Service, the L&S Honors Program and with community partners, non-profits and K-12 and government agencies.
The office helps faculty members and instructors create and teach for credit service learning and community based research (SL/CBR) courses for UW-Madison students. OSLCBR trains faculty, staff and students to serve marginalized communities including people of color, poverty populations and environmental justice organizations.
Annually, more than 70 service learning courses are taught at UW-Madison, with more than half in the College of Letters & Science. The College is proud to be a strong supporter of service learning and community based research at UW-Madison.
