Parking
lot waiting lists are for applicants who are without a parking assignment
or who are requesting a change in their parking assignment.
Eligibility
Faculty and staff who apply for annual parking and do not receive an annual
assignment will be placed on waiting lists for the lots they selected on
their web application.
Faculty and staff who receive an annual assignment will be removed from
all waiting lists, but may then reapply to be placed on one (1) waiting
list of their choice.
Eligible applicants with a valid UW ID who are new to the parking system
may apply throughout the year. A
maximum of 4 lot choices may be entered on waiting lists for applicants
without an annual assignment.
How
wait lists work
Wait lists are used to make additional assignments to parking lots as
vacancies occur. Lot
capacity
is constantly monitored. Assignments
are made approximately every two weeks as space become available. December and May are months where more
assignments tend to be offered.
Wait lists are maintained by Transportation Services for all campus lots
by merging applicants from all Parking units in to one list per lot. The
applicant’s priority percentile determines their placement on the campus-wide
waiting lists.
Wait lists change frequently as new applications, assignments and cancellations
are processed. A new applicant with a higher percentile will be placed
ahead of those with lower percentiles. That
is, waiting lists are not first-come first-served.
Assignments
Applicants with no assigned parking will be offered parking prior to current
permit holders who are looking to switch lots.
As space becomes available, Transportation Services will notify applicants
on the waiting lists that their parking assignment has been approved. Applicants
typically have 10 calendar days to respond to this offer. If they have not accepted the assignment
within the deadline, they are removed from the waitlist.
