Letters & Science is at the heart of education at UW-Madison. Almost all undergraduate students and many graduate students will take at least one course taught by Letters & Science faculty during their education at UW-Madison.

The majority of incoming Freshmen register in Letters & Science, and the College teaches almost 90% of all Freshman and Sophomore credit hours. Some students will choose majors in another UW-Madison school or college, but the largest number will go on to graduate with a Letters & Science degree.
