Summer Language Institutes

Each summer, students, faculty and professionals from all around the country and world travel to Madison, Wisconsin to participate in Summer Language Institutes.

The institutes provide intensive, eight-week training in languages, culture, history and more.

These formal educational collaborations are made possible by the U.S. Department of Education and are supported by UW-Madison's Title VI National Resource Centers.

The College of Letters & Science supports four programs annually:

• Arabic, Persian and Turkish Language Immersion Institute (APTLII)

• Central Eurasian Studies Summer Institute (CESSI)

• South Asia Summer Language Institute (SASLI)

• Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute (SEASSI)
